PROGRAMS
The Food Bank Program
The Food Bank Program offers provides 2 to 3 days of food in each hamper for anyone living in Saskatoon or within 50 km. Each household can receive two hampers per month, with foods like pasta, cereal, bread, meat, and more. Identification for each family member and proof of address are usually requested, but staff will still help if these are hard to provide.
Creating Opportunities Strategy
OUR training programs are divided into 3 areas (pathways). The Learning Pathway, Workplace Experience Pathway, and Employment Transitions Pathway. Each pathway offers participants the chance to learn, explore career options, obtain training certificates, meet people with similar interests, and work towards accomplishing their personal goals.
Nutrition Program
The Nutrition Program helps people learn cooking skills, food safety, and healthy eating. Through classes and workshops, participants can cook together, share knowledge, and take home nutritious recipes. The program also builds community by connecting people through food, culture, and tradition.
Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)
The Volunteer Income Tax Program offers free help with filing taxes for people with low to modest incomes. Trained volunteers guide participants through the process, answer questions, and connect them with important government services. The program makes tax filing easier and ensures everyone can access the benefits they are entitled to.
Clothing Depot
The Clothing Depot is a small community shop where people can find affordable clothing, personal care items, and household essentials. It’s a welcoming space that supports families while helping everyone maintain dignity and independence.
