VOLUNTEER AWARDS OVERVIEW

Each year, the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre (SFBLC) recognizes 1-5 volunteers or non-corporate volunteer groups who go above and beyond in their efforts to strengthen our community. These efforts are significant and notable and include the following:  

Considerations:

·      In recognition of a volunteer or group’s commitment to community
·      Displays dedication and commitment to one or more SFBLC programs
·      Exemplifies core values of respect, innovation, compassion, and collaboration
·      Has made a significant impact to the SFBLC
·      Fosters positive relationships with others   

Criteria:

·      Must be a contributing in a volunteer capacity
·      Must have volunteered consistently for more than one year or program cycle
·      May include committee and board members
·      Does not include individuals participating on behalf of corporate entities
·      May be awarded to a non-corporate group

Outstanding Volunteers AWARD

The Outstanding Volunteer Award recognizes an individual or group that enhances the culture of the SFBLC through their energy, welcoming actions, and good heart.  The recipient of this award demonstrates their love for the community in a number of ways, including involvement in one or more SFBLC programs and exemplifying the SFBLC core values of respect, innovation, compassion, and collaboration.

CONGRATULATIONS, Luther Riverside Terrace Residents

A special thanks to Beth Robertson, band leader and her musicians called the Terrace Troubadours for raising thousands of dollars each Christmas with their incredible showcase of talent and care for the SFBLC)

 

Youth Engagement AWARD

The Youth Engagment Award recognizes one school or youth organization that harnesses the power of youth engagement to advance food security in our community.  The recipient of this award demonstrates their love for the community in a number of ways, including involvement in one or more SFBLC programs and exemplifying the SFBLC core values of respect, innovation, compassion, and collaboration.

Who volunteered at both the warehouse and in the Garden Patch, as well as curated an art exhibit in a gallery space that explored the theme of poverty in our city.
