Affinity Credit Union

Affinity Credit Union, a Saskatchewan-based co-operative financial institution that is owned by more than 143,000 members, has provided a major gift of $250,000 to the Nutrien Plant Possibility campaign. This donation will help the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre establish a new, central facility to better address hunger in our community.

Affinity believes people come before profits and they’re dedicated to looking out for your financial health by offering great products, competitive rates and genuine, professional advice. Local through and through, every dollar deposited at Affinity stays right here in Saskatchewan by being reinvested into local communities through loans to members, sponsorships and scholarships.

Affinity’s previous financial support to the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre has allowed the organization to continue to strengthen programs and initiatives like the Garden Patch and the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. This outstanding support has been instrumental in the organization’s ability to keep pace with significant demand and expand outcome-driven programming.

The new location will optimize Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre’s operations by bringing all facilities together at one central location, replacing the three separate sites and numerous borrowed off-site storage currently in use. This move will optimize the organization’s and allow them to continue delivering much-needed services and programs to our community now and in the future.

The Food Banks of Saskatchewan will also use the new location as its administration office and shipping/receiving/distribution site, given its central location in the province.

Affinity Credit Union’s CEO, Mark Lane, said, “We’re committed to ensuring our community investments have the greatest impact possible, making the Nutrien Plant Possibility campaign a natural fit for our support. Given the important services the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre provides to our community and its role within the provincial food bank association, we’re honoured to partner on this very deserving project.”

Join Affinity Credit Union in supporting the Nutrien Plant Possibility campaign to create healthy, sustainable livelihoods in our community and ensure this vital service for the future.
