HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE INFANT FORMULA CAMPAIGN?

THE IMPORTANCE OF INFANT FORMULA

Donating infant formula to the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre is a critical way to support families in need. Infant formula provides essential nutrition for babies who may not have access to breast milk, ensuring they receive the proper vitamins, minerals, and calories needed for healthy growth.

Not all mothers are able to breastfeed, due to medical conditions, lack of support, or other barriers. For these families, formula is the key to feeding their infants, but its high cost can be prohibitive for those experiencing financial hardship.

HIGH COST OF LIVING…HIGH COST OF FOOD

The price of infant formula can strain low-income families, who may already be struggling with other living expenses. While government assistance programs like WIC offer support, they do not always cover the full need for formula, leaving some families with gaps in their supply.

Food banks provide an essential safety net by making formula available to those who would otherwise struggle to afford it. By donating, individuals help relieve the financial burden on families and ensure that babies receive the consistent nutrition they need during this critical stage of development.

YOUR DONATIONS MATTER!!

In addition to addressing immediate nutritional needs, donating formula promotes long-term health and well-being for infants and their families. Adequate nutrition during the first year of life is crucial for physical, cognitive, and immune system development.

When families receive support through formula donations, they are better able to provide for their children, reducing stress and improving family stability. By contributing to food banks, donors play a vital role in promoting the health of the next generation and strengthening the entire community.
