K+S Potash Canada
K+S Potash Canada (KSPC), a prominent global potash producer with operations in Bethune, Saskatchewan, proudly announces a significant contribution of $500,000 to the future home of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre (SFBLC). This generous donation underscores KSPC’s ongoing dedication to fostering community well-being and enhancing the quality of life for families in Saskatoon and area.
KSPC's commitment to youth, through their Youth+Us partnerships, focuses on ensuring young people have the life skills to help them grow mentally, physically and emotionally. The funding will aid in the construction of a new, purpose-built facility for SFBLC, expanding its capacity to provide essential services and resources. In recognition of the gift, a learning space in the new facility will be named for KSPC and serve as an educational hub, where courses like the Nutritional Education Program will take place, teaching youth how to grow and cook healthy food.
“We believe in being a good neighbourto the local communities where we live and operate,” said Sam Farris, President, K+S Potash Canada. “KSPC’s commitment extends beyond our operations and this is our way of supporting the incredible work of the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre. By contributing to the new facility, we are investing in the future and ensuring that young people, and their families, have the resources they need to thrive.”
As a subsidiary of the German-based K+S Group, KSPC has been a cornerstone of Saskatchewan’s economy since 2017, following the successful launch of the $4.1 billion Legacy Project and establishment of the Bethune Mine. The company employs over four hundred people between its mine near Bethune and its headquarters in Saskatoon.
Please join KSPC in supporting the Nutrien Plant Possibility campaign and help create a transformative impact by expanding access to healthy, nutritious food for more individuals.
